The UFC recently confirmed it was returning to the UK on Saturday July 27th in style, becoming the first sporting event to be hosted by the countries largest indoor arena at the Co-op Live in Manchester!
UFC fans have been speculating who will feature in the PPV event to be beamed across the world with rumours running rampant throughout combat sports media outlets. Current Welterweight king Leon Edwards, Interim Heavyweight holder Tom Aspinal and a possible shock return of Paddy Pimblett are all names being teased, but there have been a handful of confirmed matches announced and GBTT’s own Nathaniel “The Prospect” Wood (19-6-0) is set to feature.
Nathaniel has been matched against Daniel “The Pit” Pineda, who is coming off a decision loss against Alex Caceres last June. Wood is coming off a controversial decision loss against Muhammad Naimov where many took issue with several incidents of foul play.
But this is the fight game and we are eagerly anticipating The Prospects return to the Octagon. In the time since his last fight the London native has become a new father, enjoyed an impressive performance at Polaris against Alex Caceres which not only earned him the victory, but with it the second hardest belt to earn in all of combat sports next to the UFC strap and that is an Ashleigh Grimshaw Black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
It has been a blessed 2024 so far for Nathaniel. Walking out in front of a home crowd, in the biggest arena the country has to offer and get the W against a tough, game opponent is only going to add to it!
