More about Wali
Wali’s earliest interest in combat sports was with kickboxing, until he decided to give MMA classes a try in 2011. Coached by none other than GBTT coaches Brad Pickett and Ashley Grimshaw, he developed a keen interest in the art of wrestling.

Wali found that wrestling boosted his confidence, knowing how to control a fight by mastering this as a form of self defence. His favourite aspects of wrestling are that it promotes being technical, strong and flexible, as well as smart in order to outwit an opponent.

Having trained fighters for professional competition, Wali is experienced with coaching and getting the best out of fighters.

Having coached children since the age of 18, Wali is also very experienced in getting the best out of GBTT’s younger members, with carefully planned sessions that strike the right balance of being both challenging and enjoyable.

Wali runs both adult and GBTT Ninjas (6-13 year olds) wrestling classes suited to all experience levels, with participants coached according to their ability. With a hands-on approach to his coaching, Wali takes pride in ensuring he is attentive to all participants and their particular needs and skill level, making for a personalised training experience for all.
