GBTT athlete Claire Lopez (8-5-0) is kicking off 2024 back in Japan as she takes on Saori Oshima (12-4-0) for Rizin Landmark 8 at the Saga Arena on February 24th.

 

 

Claire has earned her right to call herself one of the best atom weights in the world. After running into problems finding a match up with Combate Global, a cross roads of what was next for the 35 year old French national. But Lopez never gave up hope and when Rizin offered her a match up against Rena Kubota, one of Japans biggest MMA superstars, her patience and resilience paid off with a hard earned victory.

 

 

Claire has gained a lot of appreciation in the land of the rising sun. Even after Rizin atom weight title fight against Seika Izawa (12-0-0) the promotion was quick to let Lopez know that they loved her fighting style and would love to have her fight again for them.
