Alex “Da Killa King” Lohoré had a career defining performance this Saturday against the incredibly durable Samuel Krištofič in the co-main event for at OKTAGON 40: TIPSPORT GAMECHANGER.

The 5-time world MMA champion will become the other side of the million-dollar Tipsport Gamechanger pyramid. “Da Killa King” broke into the best of the best with a flawless performance at OKTAGON 38, where he soundly put Jurek to sleep in the 3rd round. For France, Lohoré is determined to win the main trophy and take down anyone who crosses his path.

The Gamechanger tournament pits 16 fighters from across Europe against each other in an elimination tournament that see’s the winner walk away with €300,000 with the tournament total prize money hitting a very cool €1,000,000

The whole night was full of incredible fights with Christian Jungwirth vs Tato Primera and Bojan Veličković pulling off a beautiful Von flu choke against Ion Surdu being standouts but Alex’s fight was an absolute war!

The first round had some adversity for Lohoré being taken down after throwing a leg kick that was caught by Samuel, who could not capitalise on the position but still secured the round. Round 2 and 3 were very much “Da Killa Kings” as his powerful punches and crisp kicks were doing serious damage to Krištofič who has never been stopped.

The real turning point of the fight was a a move very much borrowed from the G.O.A.T John “Bones” Jones, hyper extending Samuel’s arm with an aggressive overlook that caused an audible scream from his opponent.

From then on it was all Lohoré, who came the closer than anyone has to putting the “Pirat” away but the Slovakian managed to hold on through barrages of strikes, being dropped on a couple of occasions.

With the Unanimous decision victory Alex moves to the quarter finals with the match up of the tournament against dangerous ex champion Davids Kozma.

David Kozma must not be missed in Tipsport Gamechanger. The longest reigning OKTAGON champion, whose reign over the welter lasted 4 years. After losing the title, he is hungry and motivated again to take on the best of Europe, to climb to the very top of the pyramid and prove that he is the king of welter.

Da King will enjoy his victory before coming back to the gym and working alongside his GBTT team mates to prepare for the quarter finals. We can not wait!
